At Hotwells Primary School, daily school dinners are freshly prepared in our kitchen by our catering provider, Aspens. School meals cost £2.86 per day. Their balanced menus meet high nutritional standards and offer delicious, healthy options every day, including cooked mains (with Halal options), vegetarian meals, jacket potatoes, and a fresh salad bar. If your child has a diagnosed food allergy, please inform the school office.

Ordering and Payment:

All meals must be booked and paid for in advance through SwiftKitchen. The daily deadline for ordering is 8:30am. Please look through the online menu with your child in advance so they know what they are choosing. If a meal is not ordered by 8:30am, you will need to send your child with a packed lunch.

Universal Free School Meals (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2):

All pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are automatically entitled to a free daily school meal. These meals must still be ordered in advance via SwiftKitchen, even though no payment is needed.

Free School Meals (September 2026 Update):

Eligibility rules for Free School Meals expanded in September 2026. All families receiving Universal Credit are now eligible, regardless of household income.

Help Support Our School:

Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1, or Year 2 and already receives a free meal, we warmly encourage you to apply if you think you might be eligible. Registering secures vital additional funding (Pupil Premium) directly for Hotwells Primary School, allowing us to invest in valuable extra support, resources, and activities for your children.

Packed Lunches:

If your child brings a packed lunch, please remember that Hotwells Primary School is a nut-free school to protect pupils with severe allergies. Packed lunches should be healthy and balanced; sweets, fizzy drinks, and glass containers are not permitted.
